The Waiting Room
by Tom Oliver Jacobson
One room in Arti et Amicitiae into the waiting area of a fictional clinic—a space symbolizing healing and transition. Two screens juxtapose real political footage from 2020-2024 with fictional film scenes that uncannily reflect reality, blurring the lines between fantasy and the “post-truth” political landscape. This interplay invites visitors to question their perceptions and the state of the world. Inspired by the pandemic's impact, the work delves into themes of isolation, collective memory, and the fragility of trust.
